HAP221As I sit here, I am aware of how counter intuitive it is to speak on behalf of “Happiness” when our country is feeling so much pain, grief, and confusion after the Orlando attacks last weekend.

As Marianne Williamson says so beautifully:

“In avoiding our sadness we avoid our lives. Learning from our sadness can bear great fruit, and avoiding it can have hidden costs. Our choice is between feeling the sharp pains of self-discovery or enduring the dull ache of unconsciousness that will last for the rest of our lives.”

Our sadness may arise after things like the tragedies in Paris, Orlando, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, or the diagnosis of a disease. Initially we will feel the wave of sadness, depression even, upon us. It’s what we do with it that will determine the way in which our lives and our world are effected by it long-term.

In a recent article written by Marie Forleo, about her interview with Marianne, she shares that “Marianne argues that psychic pain, like physical pain, exists for a reason and must be listened to for the message it conveys. She also believes the epidemic of depression we’re seeing today should be seen for what it really is: a collective cry for the healing of our hearts.”

I have to agree. As hard as it is to look at tragedies from a distance, that seem so separate from our busy lives, we must consider, that whatever is happening in the world, is happening to all of us. If we allow the pain to break-us open, to bring unity to the conflict we feel inside and experience in the world around us, then it is possible we can begin to heal our hearts.

And when our hearts are healed, our world will heal.

Today I’d like to pray for all of those we lost last weekend, their families and loved ones, and for all of humanity:

May we be healed.

May we be happy, joyous, and free.

May there be liberation from suffering.

May there be peace on Earth.

Thank you.

Amen.

Last week we covered Happiness and 3 Things that Can Rob Us of It, and you can read that article here if you haven’t already.

As promised last week, I am following up this week with Happiness and 3 Ways To Reclaim It When Your Mood Is Less Than Ideal.

Let us explore this week’s topic with the intention to raise ourselves up, to the energy and frequency of Happiness, to create a physiological shift, so we can move up and out of our pain and suffering, and into a life fulfilling life with love, peace, joy, connection, and possibility.

We are human Beings. We are not designed to just feel “happy” all the time. We aren’t designed to feel sadness, or anger, or fear all the time either. We are meant to experience the array of human emotions, without attaching to them, so we can continue to learn and grow through each different experience.

In this video I will cover:

– What my definition of happiness is

– How to cultivate a peaceful way of being in the world

– How Awareness can change everything

– Powerful Questions that can create big shifts

– What is possible when we use INTENTION, ATTENTION, and NO TENSION to create the life, the love, and the health we want.
